Job Description:
**JOB DESCRIPTION QUALIFICATIONS:**
The Boeing Company is currently seeking ENGINEERING CAB (ECAB)
SYSTEMS & INTEGRATION ENGINEERS, to join the Boeing Test &
Evaluation (BT&E) Team in SEATTLE, WA. This position will
support the BT&E Lab Test Northwest, Systems Laboratories
organization.
These roles will work with our team of amazing software and
hardware engineers and technicians who design, build, operate and
maintain our engineering flight deck simulators, or "eCabs", as
well as a one-of-a-kind motion-based simulator. These labs are
replicas of Boeing commercial airplane flight decks used for a
variety of testing.
CAB INTEGRATORS are the primary customer-facing engineers that
supports each test session in our eCabs. They support a wide
variety of testing and troubleshooting of simulation software,
flight deck hardware, and support systems within our
facilities.
CAB SYSTEMS engineers design, build and support a myriad of complex
electro-mechanical hardware and software systems designed to
convince pilots and avionics systems that they are flying in a
Boeing aircraft and not in a stationary test facility. These
include the high-fidelity out-the-window visuals systems and a
pilot control force feedback system.

**POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:**
- Powering up the lab and ensure all systems are responding.
- Configuring the flight hardware / simulation software models as
requested, and ensuring the systems are responding on the busses
and the lab is ready.
- Preparing any data collection needs for the test team.
- Assisting the test teams in performing their tests / flying the
airplane as needed.
- Being present and providing the testers with a deep knowledge of
both airplane and eCab systems to rapidly solve problems
encountered during testing.
- Developing expertise in one or more cab systems including: high
fidelity out-the-window visuals; pilot controls loading; motion
systems; aural systems; weather, air traffic (TCAS) and radio
simulations; heads up and heads down displays; or audio/visual
display systems.
- Learning our simulation code and being responsible for assigned
models, testing and submitting models on time for simulation
release dates.
- Ensuring the hardware and software systems are maintained and
calibrated for use in our simulators.
- Working with supplier management and procurement to order parts
and spares for new and sustaining programs.
- Ensuring our computing systems are upgraded and are
maintained.
- Maintaining configuration control of the cab systems throughout
our labs.
- Performing real-time evaluation and optimization of our systems
to ensure our latency requirements are met.
This position will primarily work onsite at the Plant 2 location
next to Boeing Field in Seattle, WA
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S Security
Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An
interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is
required.
**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):**
- Bachelor's degree or higher by December 2022 with a degree
concentration in Engineering, Math, Computer Science, or
Physics
- Experience Scripting with JavaScript, Python
- Coursework and/or experience in analog/digital signal
processing
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE):**
- Experience with C/C++ coding
- Experience with Linux Systems
- Experience with configuration management and collaboration tools
such as (or similar to) Git, JIRA, Collaborator, Beyond Compare,
and VersionOne
- Experience with low-level embedded software (e.g. BSPS and device
drivers) development, debugging/troubleshooting, and associated
environments such as workbench or Eclipse
- Knowledge of feedback control theory, electric motors, position
sensors, force sensors
- Experience within the real-time simulation problem domain such as
simulation system architectures, requirements, system interfaces
and integration and test of real-time simulators
- QNX operating system Knowledge is a plus
- Knowledge and experience with FORTRAN or similar programming
language
**TYPICAL EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:**
- Education/experience typically acquired through advanced
technical education from an accredited course of study in
engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
(e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education
and experience.
- In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not
required, accreditation standard
**RELOCATION:**
This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements,
therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. - 120.15 is
