Job DescriptionIndividual Giving OfficerJoin our growing team
and help inspire our SO community!Scope and Principal
AccountabilitiesThe Individual Giving Officer works collaboratively
with company leadership and the Development team to effectively
grow donor relationships and raise resources to create opera and
sustain all of the company's programs. This position is responsible
for identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of
individual donors and prospective donors giving $5,000 and more on
an annual basis. This full-time, salaried exempt position reports
to the Associate Director of Development – Individual Giving.
Primary duties:
- Manage a primary relationship portfolio of approximately
110-125 donor households, as well as an active donor qualification
portfolio of identified prospects.
- Create customized engagement and solicitation plans for each
household.
- Provide effective stewardship to individual donors; report on
results of their support, develop and document plans for continued
engagement. Performance metrics include, but are not limited to:
face-to-face visits, non-solicitation contacts, documented call
reports, and proposals submitted.
- Monitor and record all meaningful contacts with donors in
Tessitura.
- Collaborate with the Stewardship team to ensure
benefit/recognition fulfillment and excellent customer
service.
- Work events in person and online (e.g. donor lounge, McCaw
Hall, annual gala, dinners and receptions) to cultivate prospects
and steward donor relationships.Secondary Duties:
- Partner with board and other volunteers, actively engaging them
in all stages of the donor relationship cycle, including
face-to-face visits.
- Holistically support all areas of department strategy and all
campaigns including but not limited to Annual Giving, fundraising
events (Big Opera Party), planned and legacy giving.
- Serve as an ambassador of Seattle Opera at external
events.
- Perform other duties as assigned in order to successfully
achieve Development goals.QualificationsUndergraduate degree or
equivalent work experience required. Three to five years of
experience in fundraising and successfully working with major
donors. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. CRM
proficiency required and Tessitura experience preferred. Desired

employment.CompensationSalary Range: $66,000-73,000
