SUMMARY
Install, configure, and support an organization's local area
network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and Internet systems or a
segment of a network system. Monitor network to ensure network
availability to all system users and may perform necessary
maintenance to support network availability. ESSENTIAL

- Document help desk requests and resolutions.
- Identify the causes of networking problems, using diagnostic
testing software and equipment.
- Maintain logs related to network functions, as well as
maintenance and repair records.
- Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing
environments including computer hardware, systems software,
applications software, and all configurations.
- Perform routine maintenance or standard repairs to networking
components or equipment.
- Ensure application software used is kept up to date.
- Investigate any suspected or discovered security
anomalies.
- Document services or software deployed from an administrator
and user perspective.
- Assist with monthly server maintenance updates, workstation and
laptop updates.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or
other network and system problems, and replace defective components
when necessary.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures to
protect data, software, and hardware.
- Configure, monitor, and maintain email applications or virus
protection software.
- Operate master consoles to monitor the performance of computer
systems and networks, and to coordinate computer network access and
use.
- Design, configure, and test computer hardware, networking
software and operating system software.
- Monitor network performance to determine whether adjustments
need to be made, and to determine where changes will need to be
made in the future.
- Train people in computer system use.
- Confer with network users about how to solve existing system
problems.
- Analyze equipment performance records to determine the need for
repair or replacement.
- Implement and provide technical support for network services
and equipment, such as
- VoIP, OneDrive and Office 365 applications.
- Recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations
and determine hardware or software requirements related to such
changes.
- Research new technologies by attending seminars, reading trade
articles, or taking classes, and implement or recommend the
implementation of new technologies.
- Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations.
- Perform routine network startup and shutdown procedures and
maintain control records.
- Gather data pertaining to customer needs, and use the
information to identify, predict, interpret, and evaluate system
and network requirements.
- Coordinate with vendors and with company personnel to
facilitate purchases.
- Other duties as assigned. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education and Experience Education: Associate degree
(two-year college or technical school): Required, Field of Study:
Information Technology. Any combination of experience,
certification, or degree in a related field will be considered.
Experience: 3 or more years of experience in a related IT field
with emphasis on client support and backend systems deployment and
tools. Bremerton Housing Authority has the discretion to accept any
other equivalent combination of education and experience when
relevant. Certifications & Licenses: Professional level
certifications: MSCITP, CCNA, MCP, VCP, A+, Network+ are a plus.

This is primarily an office position with the opportunity to move
about at will. Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate
various pieces of office equipment. The employee is required to
occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Employee may be exposed to noise
from basic office machine operation. The work environment is
