Coordinates the preparation and completion of regulatory and compliance documents. Responsible for developing and distributing driver training materials which include on-boarding training and orientation, remedial training, and other DOT and FMCSA required trainings. The position assists in ensuring we maintain our reputable safety scores. The position will also be responsible for maintaining compliant files and records and efficient use of Hours of Service. This position requires a significant knowledge of various generally recognized workplace safety, transportation safety programs and DOT and FMCSA regulatory compliance systems.Essential Responsibilities Include, but Not Limited ToEffectively evaluate, monitor, analyze and identify all driver and vehicle compliance and non-compliance issues and resolve them in a timely manner.Responsible for helping manage internal and external compliance reporting, providing compliance advice and assistance, conducting compliance investigations, manage on-going education program.Monitor and assist in enforcement of DOT and FMCSA regulations to ensure compliance.Responsible for monitoring all compliance regarding tasks associated with:Driver Qualifications - Medical Cards/Physicals, Licenses, Annual Driving RecordsDriver Training - DOT regulations, Hazmat training (all areas required for our industry)Driver Records - Processing employment applications, DOT required documents, company policies, CSA, MVR, criminal background, PSP, etc.DOT Drug Testing -Administer random drug screens and oversee FMCSA ClearinghouseReviews reporting of all vehicle and employee accidents/incidents for input in the determination of cause and preventability and identifying potential trends.Help oversee vehicle accident claims and identify any trends and corrective actions.Maintain roadside inspections and citations including overweight, traffic violations, etc.Act as the subject matter expert with our Safety Management System (SMS) to ensure all recorded information is accurate and belongs to our company record.Conduct daily audits of drivers to ensure compliance and productivity through a fleet management and tracking software system.Manage our safety incident tracker associated to all not at fault and at fault incidents.Track monthly safety training topics and meetings for commercial and non-commercial drivers.Assist with coordination of inspections, assessments, surveys, and program evaluations to identify potential hazards, and ensures compliance with all applicable safety and compliance requirements.Practice oversight of the small vehicle fleet safety program and help perform required periodic record checks.Qualifications:Required Skills and ExperienceExcellent communication skills-written, verbal and interpersonal and have the ability to work closely with line supervision and management to facilitate the training required in our facilities.Should have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, to write routine reports and correspondence, and to speak effectively before a group of employees.MS Office Suite proficientDriver's LicenseSense of urgency and ownership regarding role and the needs of the department.Emotional intelligence with the ability to be flexible and adaptable to shifting priorities.Preferred Skills and ExperienceProficient in safety softwares, Geotab, or HireRightWorking knowledge of federal and state safety laws, particularly FMCSR and OSHA standardsCDLCPR, First Aid/AED CertificationNATMI CertificationPower Industrial Truck Trainer CertificationOSHA10/30 CertificationHear from Charlie's employeesSupplemental InformationThis employer participates in E-Verify and will provide the Social Security Administration and if necessary, the Department of Homeland Security with information from each new employee's Form I-9 to confirm work authorization.Charlie's Produce is an Equal Opportunity Employer
