This position is a primary point of contact for individuals entering a lobby in select buildings on the HMC campus. The individual represents HMC and UW Medicine in a manner that welcomes people and reflects a strong sense of excellence with regards to both the care that we provide and the experience that can be expected. Through actions and behaviors, demonstrates HMC's mission, vision and values.Monitors the lobby to ensure that patients, visitors, and staff are able to enter, navigate, and access areas as is intended and in a manner that is genuinely welcoming and safe.Responds to patient and visitor requests and provides directions to specified areas such as clinics, meeting rooms, eating facilities, and other buildings in a manner that is friendly and supportive.Communicates information on hospital programs to patients, visitors and staff. Represents the hospital and programs in a professional and positive manner.Responds to questions and concerns about parking and with navigating garages, side streets and the HMC campus.Triages telephone calls and requests for information to provide a quick and supportive response. Follows-up with requesters to ensure needs were met.Assists with orienting new tenants and staff.Oversees the environmental conditions such as the seating, lighting, cleanliness, and general safety conditions. Submits work orders to address needs and to maintain high standards.Responds to questions associated with repairs and work requests and guides staff to appropriate contacts and procedures for submitting requests.Supports communication strategies such as distributing flyers and announcements. May work in coordination with Security Services, Parking and Commuter Services, the Safety Officer, etc. to provide information to visitors and staff.Oversees vendor check-in and badging activities as assigned.Maintains records and logs of observations, activities, calls, etc. as directed. Performs general clerical duties such as answering and screening telephone calls and assembling and sending information. Creates computer based documents as assigned.Recommends ways to enhance communications with patients, visitors, and staff. Participates in preparation and maintenance of policies and procedures for area of responsibility.Monitors activity in lobby and requests assistance as is appropriate. May monitor views from security cameras.May help guide first responders to areas (when conditions do not create safety risks for the individual).Serves as a safety warden and initiates emergency procedures when necessary.Participates in training associated with job duties and Service Culture Guidelines.Assigned building may vary. Provides relief to similar position(s) as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:High School graduation or equivalent AND one year of healthcare, administrative, or customer service experience OR equivalent education/experience.University of Washington is an affirmative action and equal opportunity employer.
