We're seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Investment Consultant to join our Global Distribution, External Wholesale team. This role is remote, covering the state of Washington and Oregon territories.
The Senior Investment Consultant will Independently evaluates and pursues new business opportunities and client prospects within the Broker Dealer universe, focusing on responsible business growth that fits within guidelines of partner firms. The Senior Investment Consultant will develop and execute a quarterly territory plan, which includes a strategic plan for the territory as well as a detailed calling plan for large opportunities in the territory. In addition to business development, the Senior Investment Consultant will also continually update existing clients on product information: performance, attribution, commentary, personnel changes, etc. This role will be covering the entire states of WA and OR.
Additional Responsibilities:

  • Serves in a consultative role to prospects and clients, advising leadership on the best way to achieve their short- and long- term strategic objectives through the firm's solutions.
  • Pursues small to moderately-sized prospects of limited complexity with standard product needs.
  • May bring firm resources in on large or complex accounts to gain breadth/depth of knowledge.
  • Key responsibilities include representing the entire suite of BNY Mellon Investment Management investment products and strategies to a segmented group of advisors withing the Broker Dealer universe.
  • Critical to success will be the ability to leverage existing BNY Mellon relationships, coordinate activity across multiple investment subsidiaries, effectively manage and prioritize numerous opportunities across a large regional territory, and integrate with key client service functions.
  • The Senior Investment consultant will provide feedback to senior management on new business opportunities, issues/concerns, etc.
  • Frequent travel is required (3 days a week on average).
  • Work closely with related teams (SRMs, BI, Product, Affiliates, PSG, MSG etc.) and other firm-wide resources (marketing, legal, compliance, etc.) to ensure all risk management/compliance activities relevant to business development activities are conducted and captured.
  • May have additional team members. Provides guidance to less experienced Business Development roles as needed. Responsible for business development within assigned area with current clients and prospects (geographic territory, product category, business/industry category/segment, etc.). Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree required. Post graduate degree and/or CIMA or other designation preferred.
    • 5+ years of experience in financial services (preferably in Sales).
    • A thorough understanding of financial markets, sophisticated investment solutions, asset allocation techniques, and general investment acumen. Willingness to be part of an entrepreneurial team and the ability to succeed within a dynamic, relatively autonomous environment.
    • Strong communication and presentation skills Strong analytical and financial analysis skills.
    • Excellent closing and negotiation skills. Frequent travel is required (3 days a week on average).
    • FINRA Series 7, 63 and 65 licenses required.
