are enterprise Chief Customer Officers and their organizations.
These executives are challenged to scale the teams and drive
performance across increasing numbers of customer touch points, but
struggle with fragmented technologies and manual processes. Magnify

challenges in this large and growing market of over 4 million CS
professionals.Magnify is a fast-moving startup backed by top-tier
investors like Madrona and Decibel, with a veteran and successful
leadership team.The roleWe are hiring for a Senior Applied
Scientist to join us as we transform the customer experience in
software. Here at Magnify we build services that sit at the
intersection of data architectures and ML to solve a broad spectrum
of problems from automation to orchestration, to experimentation,
to scaling of tech and applied science models across a variety of
enterprise domains.Our Senior Applied Scientists are pragmatic
leaders who can translate business needs into workable science
solutions. We are looking for a senior scientist like dealing with
ambiguity, solving hard, large scale problems, and working in a
startup environment.Our Applied Scientists are expected to take
ownership, dive deep and drive science solutions from developing
prototypes, design to coding, testing and deployment. The role
requires innovation and pushing boundaries to help our customers
successfully deliver their products.As one of the first hires at a
venture-track company, this role provides an opportunity to grow
with the company and to have real impact with enormous
upside.QualificationsCommunication- Brings a proven ability to
communicate with team members and to engage in creative, thoughtful
and energetic discussions with others.Able to provide project
progress and results both orally and in writingFunctional Skills -
Work with product managers to understand business goals,
requirements and use casesAble to map abstract business goals and
requirements to well-defined science projects with executable plans
and milestonesAble to use existing tools or write code to perform
statistical data analysisCreate machine learning prototypes to
evaluate feasibilities of approaches, gain insight and drive
creation of production ready modelsDesign and apply machine
learning models (supervised, unsupervised, reinforcement learning,
casual inference, and uplift, etc.) to solve business problems.
Mathematical formulation and coding required.Work with software
developers to collect data in different formats from various
sources and deploy, scale science models in productionEvaluate,
analyze and interpret model results, and further improve model
performanceShare findings and learnings with teams and mentor
junior scientists to help them growCuriosity - Self-starting
ability to dive into use cases and is curious to learn new
approaches and methodologies to deliver results.Culture - Strong
team player, true character, always learning, curious, good
judgement, scrappy, smart, good humored and a tolerance for
ambiguity.ExperienceExperience building machine learning models or
developing algorithms for business application.3+ years of
experience in applied science and software development at large
scalePhD OR Master's Degree plus industry or academic research
experience in Engineering, Technology, Computer Science, Machine
Learning, Robotics, Operations Research, Statistics, Mathematics or
a related quantitative fieldProficiency in, at least, one modern
programming language such as C, C++, Java, or PythonHands-on
experience in predictive and optimization models with large data
analysisProven track record of leading and mentoring applied
