As the lead of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will work across the company to establish and communicate standards and best practices for the design, test, and operation of pressur ized fluid systems. You will share in the team's impact on all aspects in the development of safe, well understood pressure systems for ground and flight applications. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required! Responsibilities:

  • Lead cross company pressure systems working group in the definition, communication, and interpretation of standards and best practices-including design methodologies, analysis/modeling/test techniques, and safe operation of pressure systems and components.
  • Lead d evelop ment of a training curriculum supporting pressure systems designers and operators
  • D evelop new technical guidance for complex topics based on self-directed research and test campaigns.
  • Provide non-advocate review of pressure system/component designs and test arrangements/procedures using advanced technical judgment .
  • Provide technical mentorship for fluid/pressure system design and operation team leads . Qualifications:
    • B.S. degree in engineering or equivalent command of engineering fundamentals.
    • Track record of self-starting and strong ability to drive to consensus with the input of several subject matter experts.
    • 1 5 + years' experience with design or analysis of fluid systems/components
    • Working knowledge of functional diagrams and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), Process HazardAnalysis (PHA, HAZOP).
    • Advanced knowledge of fluid systems design standards and components such as valves, regulators, and fittings.
    • Working knowledge of materials, treatments, fabrication, integration processes, and quality control techniques.
    • Working knowledge of composite overwrapped pressure vessel (COPV) design and safe use.
    • Experience leading fluid component and subsystem level testing including test planning, test execution and hazard analysis.
    • Strong ability and desire to understand complex systems, investigate and solve challenging problems, and work in a dynamic environment.
    • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Desired:
      • Experience with design, analysis, test, and operation of pressure systems for ground, aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicle applications including hydraulic, pneumatic, cryogenics and high temperature systems.
      • Experience developing technical standards for fluid systems or components.
