For detailed information on Benefits for this position, click here. The UWMC Resource Team has an outstanding opportunity for a Full-Time Patient Services Supervisor (Day Shifts).

The Patient Services Specialist Supervisor is responsible for a variety of non-clinical administrative and programmatic functions within boarding locations and supports operations of the Central Resource groups and Patient Transport. The major programmatic scope includes equipment and supply management, change management, coordination with ancillary departments to ensure ongoing readiness to optimize boarding locations for patient flow. Additionally, the Operations Supervisor will provide a variety of administrative support functions including but not limited to timekeeping, record storage and retention, employee education and training coordination and ongoing process improvement efforts.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains a current knowledge base of UWMC and unit specific information systems. Proactively works to improve programs and systems.
  • Work with House Supervisor and Resource Team leadership to manage activities related to surge, boarding areas, labor pools and logistics.
  • Works collaboratively as a member of the department leadership team, taking a proactive role to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Serves as a non-clinical liaison with Environmental Services, Food and Nutrition, Pharmacy, Supply Chain, Ops & Maintenance, Clinical Engineering, Teleservices, and related departments to ensure boarding areas are physically ready to receive patients.
  • Work with the Nurse Manager to manage and implement ongoing process improvement with key Transport metrics.
  • Maintains HR systems for department staff, including personnel actions, maintenance of standardized department personnel files, unit-based competencies, etc.
  • Schedules and coordinates education for Patient Care Tech (PCT) specific to transport and morgue transport.
  • Rounds and leads daily huddles in Transport office resolving issues and escalating issues as needed.
  • Ensures bi-annual patient handling equipment inventory is completed and posted

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    Bachelor's Degree in a medically related or public relations field AND Four years of experience as a Patient Services Specialist OR High School graduation or equivalent and four years experience as a Patient Services Specialist and a UW Supervisory Skill Certificate; OR equivalent education/experience
