American Water partners with Seattle Public Utilities to operate
the Tolt Water Treatment Facility started operations in 2001
treating water from the Tolt Reservoir located on the South Fork of
the Tolt River. It provides about one-third of the water for
Seattle and its regional customers. If you want to be part of an

Job Details
Starting wage is dependent upon on state of Washington industry
certification - $49.80/hr. (increases to $51.00/hr. on 5/1/2024),
PLUS signing bonus and relocation assistance available. Opportunity

This position may be eligible for annual incentive pay and
contracted increases as determined by the collective bargaining
agreement, and you will have the opportunity for continued salary
growth. In addition to compensation, you will receive a

Important Details
American Water Services-CDM's ("AWS-CDM") Services Contract with
Seattle Public Utilities ("SPU") will be ending no later than the
first quarter of 2026. SPU will be assuming the operations of the
Tolt Treatment Facility at the end of the contract. Cooperative
efforts between AWS-CDM and SPU are underway to plan for this
transition including the addition of one operator positions.
Primary Role
Independently operates, maintains, repairs and inspects water
treatment systems at water facility (chemical feed systems,
filters, buildings and grounds). Includes the collection of water
samples per state regulations, recording data, adjusting chemical
feed rates, and other similar duties. Position will also be
required to assist with equipment, building and grounds maintenance
activities.
