required! This role is part of the Safety, Quality, and Mission
Assurance team. This team is focused on monitoring and assessing
processes that guide Blue Origin's design, manufacturing, and
operations, ensuring system safety engineering, environmental
health, and safety, product integrity, and continuous improvement
processes.As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of
experts, you will develop and execute commercial quality processes
for the design, test and manufacture of launch vehicles,
spacecraft, and related technologies. You will be responsible to
drive quality products throughout the organization by maintaining a
corporate culture that emphasizes accountability, discipline, and
attention to detail at all levels. You must have a passion for
solving complex problems and providing operable solutions; act with
minimal direction and on your own initiative; and be adaptable as
you will work on a variety of applications and systems. We are
looking for an individual that can support the quality initiatives
around flight hardware and engine production. This position will
directly impact the history of space exploration and will require
your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and
repeatable spaceflight.Responsibilities:
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections of internal flight
hardware at Cleaning Passivation and Verification work center/s. As
needed, support the review and inspection of supplier related
hardware
- Support Nonconforming Materials process as required
- Monitor SPC activities and drive NC reduction efforts
- Provide training and/or assistance to other team members in the
use of quality procedures and/or tools
- Conduct process health assessments and area self assessments
for compliance with industry standards and provide ongoing
objective evaluations of processes and documentation
- Evaluate work centers and make continuous improvement
recommendations
- Conduct follow-ups to ensure process improvement and corrective
/ preventive action implementation and effectiveness
- Facilitate Root Cause Analysis efforts and identification of
corrective/preventive actions associated with recurrent
Non-conformances or anomalies
- Support Quality projects as requiredQualifications:
- 4+ years' industry experience in an aviation/aerospace
manufacturing environment with at least 2 years in a quality
assurance role
- Aerospace, space launch, military or commercial aviation
preferred
- Internal auditing experience
- Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO9000 Quality Management System
and/or related quality systems and programs
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel,
PowerPoint, Word)
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional
relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident
(current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as
a refugee or granted asylum.Desired:
- Relevant experience in a start-up environment, transitioning a
product from development, through production to operations
- Quality performance measurement analysis capabilities
(SPC)
- CPV experience
- Quality Management System Audit experience
- Continuous improvement project experience
- Knowledge of typical aerospace assembly and inspection
techniques
- Clear communication skills
- Great presentation skills
- Six Sigma Green Belt certificationCompensation Range for:WA
applicants is $73,800.00-$103,320.00Other site ranges may
