RN Program Coordinator for our Parkinson's Disease Center of
Excellence (job profile: Health Program Operations Specialist).
This is a unique nursing role, focused on developing complex care
coordination services for patients with Parkinson's Disease.WORK

DESCRIPTIONThe UW Medicine Neurosciences Institute (NSI) provides
lifesaving and life-changing care for conditions that affect the
brain, spine and nervous system. The RN Program Coordinator will
specifically support our Parkinson's Disease Center of Excellence,
which is nationally recognized by the Parkinson's Foundation for
upholding the highest standards of care for Parkinson's patients.
Our team includes board-certified neurologists, rehabilitation
specialists, and movement disorder specialists who are subject
matter experts in this field.POSITION HIGHLIGHTSGreat career

RESPONSIBILITIESProvides expert nursing care to patients with
Parkinson's DiseaseInterprets data about the patient's status pre-
and post-procedureDevelops patient educational materialsPromotes
continuity of care through patient care plans, which includes care
coordination with inpatient and outpatient areas, the operating
room, and community agenciesDevelops protocols to improve care for
acute and urgent patient needsMeets documentation standards and
policiesPartners with the Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) team to
streamline the referral and evaluation process, including patient
outreach and education prior to visitCoordinates all aspects of the
evaluation visit with the referring team, including the need for
physical therapy, neuropsychology, and other items prior to
surgeryAttends monthly Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) conferences and
follows up with patients to provide education and
recommendationsAssists with data extraction for national
registriesOversees quality and process improvement
initiativesCoordinates resources for research as it pertains to the
Parkinson's Disease Center of ExcellenceAssists with marketing and
outreach for Parkinson's Disease Center of Excellence, and other
defined populations as neededDevelops and maintain an on-site Deep
Brain Stimulation (DBS) support group for Parkinson's
patientsREQUIREMENTSBSN / Bachelor's Degree in Nursing3 years of
nursing experience, including 2 years in neurologyActive licensure
to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington StateAble to
communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in
