At Cultivate Learning, we translate insight into learning opportunity.Cultivate Learning currently has an outstanding opportunity for an Assessment Lead.Reporting to the Director of Ratings, the Assessment Lead serves as an important point of contact and support for regionally based Cultivate Learning Data Collectors and partner agencies. Assessments Leads are integral to ensuring that data collection procedures are followed and that data is collected and coded in a valid and reliable manner. This position will be independently responsible for overseeing the coordination and planning efforts of each phase of the research project(s), will be expected to collaborate with the Assessment Lead team in the development of research designs and revisions to Center wide data collection processes and overall reliability, and will regularly design, compose and edit technical reports, publications, and presentations. This role will also be responsible for the direct supervision of 4-5 direct reports with the full scope of supervisory ************ support of this effort, the Assessment Lead duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:Research Administration Achieve and maintain anchor status on all ERS ************** a subject matter expert, demonstrate understanding of the rationale behind QRIS (Quality Rating Improvement System) standards and local and state requirements for early care and education programs serving young children.Inform, adapt, and follow data collection protocols and procedures which include tailoring data collection to individual site needs. Collaborate with the Director of Ratings to revise research protocols and procedures as required.Keep meticulous and highly detailed records of all statewide Data Collector work and collaborate with the Data Manager to prepare regular reports on Cultivate Learning reliability on the ERS tool. Oversee site visit coordination for regional staff, correspond with study participants, and disseminate and collect study related activities and materials as needed.Collaborate with the Coach Support team in order to ensure alignment between baseline quality assessments conducted by partner agencies and those conducted by Cultivate Learning.Apply scientific knowledge of standardized assessments, coding for reliability, child development and early learning and care environments gained through formalized training. Ensure that for all study activities, both in the field and on site at Cultivate Learning, will be conducted in a reliable, valid and confidential manner per human subjects, IRB and existing Cultivate Learning expectations.Meet established reliability rates on all assigned assessment instruments (for example, classroom and individual child assessments).Work with Community Liaison team to understand projected rating demand and to ensure sufficient staffing to meet contracted data collection needs.Provide consultation around environmental assessments to partner agencies as needed in collaboration with the Director including managing Cultivate Learning's ERS inbox to ensure questions are answered in a timely manner.Ensure providers have access to high quality and relevant session content at bi-annual EA institutes across the state, and present the content as needed across the state.Independently maintain up to date protocols for all ERS related work.Maintain up to date protocols on general data collection procedures in collaboration with Assessment Lead team.Participate in weekly lead meetings at Cultivate Learning office as well as weekly individual check ins with Director.Demonstrate understanding of the rationale behind QRIS standards and local and national requirements for early learning programs serving young children and families.Stay informed of the latest research around early learning, QRIS, and environmental ************** collaboration with the leadership team coordinate bi-annual Cultivate Learning all team meetings.Participate in regular meetings with partners at Child Care Aware of WA and Department of Early Learning.Ensure all data collectors maintain acceptable reliability levels according to Cultivate Learning's ERS reliability standards. - Work with the Director, Manager of Ratings and Community Liaisons to create timeline for data collection and coding to ensure that targets are achieved. - Oversee data collection and ensure that it proceeds within allotted timeline. Responsible for the quality checking process of assessments, data quality control, and composing reports to the providers.Other duties as assigned.Supervision: Supervise a total of 4-5 FTE Data Collectors, and will have the authority to hire staff, evaluate job performance, and take corrective action if performance is not acceptable.Provide ongoing leadership and direction to the team while also mentoring and providing growth opportunities for them to develop professionally in their positions. Implement and maintain University office policies related to personnel issues.Monitor the work of team members to ensure that correct procedures are followed. Provide direction to assure completion of tasks and projects.Support direct reports in achieving deliverables and meeting timelines for sponsors. Oversee staff performance, including annual staff performance review process, and work with The College of Education HR Director on corrective action plans and performance management as necessary. Review and approve staff leave requests and timesheets.Meet with direct reports regularly to share ideas, give direction, and resolve problems.Coordinate and oversee Cultivate Learning Data Collector training and reliability on the ERS measure. For detailed information on Benefits for this position, click here.REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree, with significant coursework in observational methods, early childhood assessment, early childhood education and care, child development and learning, and family systems 3-4 years of relevant work experience. Additional Requirements:Knowledge of and experience with program assessments.Reliable on Environment Rating Scale Assessments and ability to attain and maintain anchor status on all environmental assessments used by Cultivate Learning, currently Environment Rating Scales Revised suite of tools.Reliable on Infant Toddler Environment Rating Scale 3rd edition (ITERS-3).Reliable on the Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale 3rd edition (ECCERS-3).Ability to consistently apply sound professional judgment and critical thinking to address complex issues, solve problems, and maintain a high level of confidentiality.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Strong organizational skills.Ability to work effectively in a team environment.Experience with data entry, working with databases, paperwork management, and working within project deadlines.Ability to track complex projects and to ensure their timely completion.Ability to work with people of various racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.Experience with word processing/editing program, including Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.Completion of the Strategic Leadership Program (level 1) within first 12 months or employment.Willingness to travel.Training and Proficiency requirementsMeet and maintain set reliability criteria on all assigned assessment instruments.Maintain set rates of intra-rater and inter-rater reliability as described in Cultivate Learning protocols and procedures.Demonstrate understanding of the rationale behind QRIS Standards and local and state requirements for early care and education programs serving young children.
