VERITY CREDIT UNION Part-Time Teller DEPARTMENT: Branches - Taking applications for all locations LOCATION: Seattle, WA, Auburn, WA, and Lynnwood, WA branches REPORTS TO: Branch Manager or Community Branch Manager FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt STARTING SALARY: $15.00 per hour base wage, uncapped team incentives, & great benefits for part-time & full-time employees! POSITION SUMMARY We are currently seeking part-time tellers for our branches.Tellers create an exceptional member experience by providing superior service and offering products and services that will save our members money, earn them more, and make their lives more convenient.This position primarily handles all branch transactions including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, cashing checks, issuing checks, and processing cash advances. The ideal candidates for this position have strong communication and customer service skills, cash handling experience, a friendly and professional demeanor, are detail-oriented, and work well on a team. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS --- Greet members and guests in a professional and courteous manner Verify cash-in and cash-out on cash transactions Accept savings and checking deposits Cash checks and verify cash disbursed Accept and properly apply loan payments Issue temporary checks, money orders, and cashier's checks Redeem savings bonds Transfer funds between accounts Process stop payments, make address changes, and reorder checks Balance cash drawer and daily transactions Answer member questions regarding accounts in person and follow through on requests Make concentrated effort to solve member problems Promote the Verity's services and cross-sell products Counsel members on savings, savings alternatives, interest rates, and services offered at Verity Provide members with the forms necessary to transact business Strictly adhere to established security procedures Performs other job related duties as assigned Attending the job during regular business hours is a requirement of this position DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS Education and Experience --- Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent Experience in a financial institution is preferred, not required Experience in customer service is strongly preferred Experience in cash handling is preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities --- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills Detail oriented and good organizational skills Ability to perform minor mathematical calculations and collect and analyze data Ability to work independently and as a team member Ability to present a positive and professional image to all employees and members Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Ability to organize and prioritize to meet work deadlines Problem-solving skills Knowledge of fundamentals of banking preferred Knowledge of government and CU banking regulations and procedures preferred Ability to use 10 key PHYSICAL CONSIDERATIONS Verity Credit Union is committed to reasonably accommodating physical aspects of any position.The following are some requirements normally encountered in this job: --- Ability to effectively and efficiently communicate with diverse membership and staff Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time Ability to work on computers for a long period of time in an office environment Ability to visually recognize and verify funds for endorsements and negotiability Washington is an At-Will Employment State Your employment is "at will", meaning you are free to resign at any time, for any reason, with or without notice.Verity Credit Union is also free to conclude the employment relationship with you at any time, for any reason, with or without notice.
