This is a professional position providing therapeutic interventions to children, youth and their families with intensive behavioral health, crisis response, and community safety needs using the Mockingbird Family Model of Care. Therapeutic services provided by a Clinician I include: child/youth and foster homes support crisis response and stabilization as well as long-term, team-based behavioral health services to children, youth and their foster caregivers. Responsibilities MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Individualized Service Planning and Implementation of MFM Model: * Act as primary 'First Clinical Responder' to youth and their birth/foster caregivers, providing initial direct crisis response, de-escalation, and emergency supervision for children and youth who are in behavioral crises in their foster home, school, and community. The Clinician I will provide intensive and strength based therapeutic behavioral health services and supports to children, youth and families in the community including: assessing for immediate safety and stabilization needs, treatment plan development, safety and crisis planning, child and family team meeting facilitation, on-going assessment and evaluation of current treatment planning strategies, goals, and outcomes. * Prescribe and implement behavioral health strategies and treatment plans for high risk children and youth in foster care, modeling and teaching social behavior, self-protection skills and awareness, and developmentally appropriate coping and social interaction skills. Provide skill building support that enhances a youth's ability to function effectively and safely in the community addressing therapeutic issues such as anger management, alternatives to aggression toward others, frustration tolerance, and socialization. Clinical Support to Children/Youth, Foster Caregivers and MFM Constellation * As part of the MFM team, outreach into the community to recruit prospective foster parents and respond to inquiries to meet MFM recruitment targets. * As part of MFM team, visit prospective foster family homes to assess their readiness and ability to care for one or more children in need of temporary foster care using the MFM model. * As part of MFM team, provide ongoing foster parent support and education opportunities including CCT. * Working in partnership with Foster Home Licensor to support MFM families through the licensing process, including collecting documentation, participating in the initial screening of the parents'/family's readiness and ability to provide foster care, utilizing thorough knowledge and understanding of the WAC in regard to licensing of foster parents. * Working in partnership with Foster Home Licensor, support MFM constellation by making quarterly Health and Safety visits to each licensed home, ensuring their continued compliance with licensing regulations, and noting any needs as well as any deficiencies. Mockingbird Family Model Clinical Liaison * Collaborate with the Licensing Supervisor or Licensor II to be available for emergency contacts by foster parents via home, office or cell phone numbers, and offering other kinds of support to them in times of need. * In coordination with the Foster Home Licensor II or Licensing Supervisor, assess risks in home milieu and participate in the development a Home Supervision Plan to ensure the safety and appropriate supervision of all children placed in a foster home. * Coordinate with the Hub home in providing monthly constellation meetings and trainings. * Coordinate with the Hub home in providing ongoing activities for youth in the constellation. * Participate in data tracking and meetings to ensure the constellation remains in fidelity according to the Mockingbird Family Model. * Other duties as assigned. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor's degree in social work, psychological, behavioral sciences or * One year experience serving children and/or families (mental health, social services, education, etc.) * 21 years or * Training and experience in public speaking and teaching. * Foster Home Licensing or case management experience with children in care. * Knowledge of Washington State child welfare regulations and procedures. * Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and automobile * Agency Affiliated License (HIV/AIDS training required) or applied for within 1stmonth of employment * Must have an acceptable driving record per CCS' driving policy (required to provide current driving abstract) * First/Aid CPR certified or the ability to become certified within the 1 month of employment * Proof of negative TB test within past 12 months or ability or test within first six months of * Applicant must successfully pass required background checks prior to an offer of * Ability to work independently in addition to working as a member of a * Demonstrates the necessary attitudes, knowledge and skills to deliver culturally competent services and work effectively in multi-cultural * Support and uphold the mission, beliefs and values of Catholic Community Services and Catholic Housing Preferred Qualifications * Master's Degree in Social Services or related field. * Mental Health Professional (as defined by WAC 388-865). * Knowledge of Wraparound principles and practice.
