Job Description:

We currently have an excellent opportunity for a motivated Healthcare Customer Support Specialist at a major healthcare organization. The Customer Services Representative will be a key player responsible for Patient Access and obtaining appropriate insurance authorizations as needed. We are seeking someone with a good understanding of EOBs. He facilitates and coordinates the daily activities of the section to ensure that each patient feels respected, welcome and comfortable. As a Customer Services Representative you will assist providers in administering health care through telephone answering, appointment scheduling, rooming patients, managing and communicating daily schedules, ensuring revenue capture is complete/timely, and communicating test results and patient concerns in an efficient and timely manner. Job Responsibilities Responding promptly and accurately to telephone, written, and electronic inquiries from patients, providers, and in-house departments Responsible for the identification and proper data entry of insurance detail Responsible for notifying the patient of any significant gaps in coverage and/or high co-pays or deductibles prior to services being rendered Documenting authorizations or denied authorizations in appropriate systems as per protocol Maintaining a deep understanding of all major insurance plans and products Requirements Experience - High school diploma or equivalent required. - This position requires a minimum of one-year experience in a health care setting, related education or equivalency and demonstrated customer service and/or patient care skills. - Also required are demonstrated organization, interpersonal communication and basic computer skills. - In addition, incumbents must demonstrate problem-solving and prioritization skills in order to manage multiple tasks successfully throughout the day. Prefer proficiency in computer systems (scheduling, electronic mail, computer operating systems, office software, electronic medical records). - Also prefer demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology and third-party payor requirements. - Experience with EOBs. - Demonstrated track record of strong written and verbal communication skills . - Knowledgeable about medical terminology and insurance products and plans. - Previous experience working with a healthcare practice management system preferred . - Experience with Microsoft office preferred .
