Job Description:
The Cloud AI (CAI) organization delivers a set of hyperscale
cloud solutions and services including Azure, Microsoft’s cloud
computing platform, that help organizations across the globe solve
urgent challenges and transform for the future. The Executive
Office of the EVP of Cloud AI is seeking a Communications Director
to lead strategic communications for this critical sector of the
Microsoft business. If you possess domain expertise demonstrated in

collaborate and develop close partnerships while orchestrating work
across the broader Cloud AI Engineering organization, and key
stakeholders including Marketing, Sales, Public Relations,
Corporate Communications, and Human Resources. You should work well
in a team, drive impactful results, and uphold the team’s
philosophy to operate with the highest levels of integrity and
trust. You will show the utmost discretion in the management of
confidential corporate information. Developing an understanding of
the EVP’s business priorities and serving as a trusted advisor to
the Chief of Staff on communications is essential to your success.
You will develop internal and external communications strategies
that articulate and enhance understanding of organizational vision
and underscore Microsoft Azure’s leadership in accelerating cloud
and AI innovation. The scope includes technical storytelling,
employee/community/event engagement, public relations & media,
crisis communications, investor relations, analyst relations,
community leadership, social media, and more. Foundational to
success in this role and team is the belief in how innovative,
cutting-edge technology will change the way people work and live

communicating with our employees, customers, partners, and other

storytelling. Qualifications Required/Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Business, Business Administration, Marketing,
Communications, Finance, or related field AND 6 years
Communications, Marketing Operations, Field Operations, Program
Management, Project Management, or related experience OR equivalent
experience. 4 years of experience supporting senior executives in
an executive communications role. 4 years of experience
independently managing cross functional projects and
communications. 2 years of experience in a communications role in a
global, enterprise level organization. Additional or Preferred
Qualifications Bachelors Degree in Business, Marketing,
Communications, Finance, or related field AND 8 years
Communications, Marketing Operations, Field Operations, Program
Management, Project Management, or related experience OR Masters
Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Finance, or related
field AND 6 years Communications, Marketing Operations, Field
Operations, Program Management, Project Management, or related
experience OR equivalent experience. 4 years of specialized
functional (e.g., retail, technology) experience. 3 years of
experience working with social media platforms. 4 years of
experience working in a PR agency. Other Requirements: Ability to
meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening
requirements are required for this role. These requirements
include, but are not limited to the following specialized security
screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be
required to pass the Microsoft background and Microsoft Cloud
background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Communications IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role
across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $251,900 per year. There is a
different range applicable to specific work locations, within the
San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the
base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 -
$272,300 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and

Responsibilities Develops and maintains the CAI EVP’s platform and
voice, aligned to team, business, and organizational objectives.
Measure the outcomes of each engagement to evaluate impact, learn,
and make improvements to net the highest ROI. Partners with
engineering and marketing stakeholders to help craft the most
compelling and cohesive stories around Microsoft’s products and
services through speaking engagements (1P/3P). Leads CAI internal
communications community, partners and informs on relevant crisis
communications, and contributes to SLT communications community
through best practice sharing, messaging consistency, and idea
generation. Creates materials for internal and external
communications including briefing materials, scripting/messaging
for keynotes, presentations, PR/media engagements, social media,
and events. Ensures the use of current and relevant templates and
materials and builds on the effectiveness of them. Supports keynote
and event preparation through a myriad of ways, including content
and demo creation, production, and logistics. Leverages technical
experience, and knowledge of effective communication campaigns to
determine the appropriate approach. Maintains an up-to-date
understanding of industry trends, competitor landscape, and
emerging technologies to inform communications strategies.
