Job Number: 210022 Department: Emergency Department Hours: 7p-7aVirginia Mason is seeking an Emergency Department Technician/MonitorTechnician for our busy Emergency Department. This position includes duties andResponsibilities of both the Patient Care Technician (C.N.A) and MonitorTechnician including other specific responsibilities outlined below. ThePurpose of this job is to provide flexibility to meet the needs of ourPatients. This role you will be responsible for: --Providing direct patient care under theSupervision of the RN. --Providing support to nursing and physicianStaff by performing tasks and procedures that assist in the care and treatmentOf patients with illnesses and injuries.--Organizing, replacing, and maintainingInventory and supply level in the department. --Supporting the work of nursing, EKG, physicalTherapy, occupational therapy, and respiratory therapy staff.--Performing phlebotomy, splinting, Point ofCare and wound care interventions --Providing on-going surveillance of patientCardiac monitors and provides RNs with immediate notification of any changes inCardiac rhythms and/or vital signs. --Performing Patient Flow Coordinator duties inThe Emergency Department*Qualifications:**We require:*--High school diploma or GED.--Certification as a Nursing Assistant (NA-C),And as a Virginia Mason Health Care Assistant Level A.--EKG certification.--Maintaining a MA-P or MA-C credential.--Comprehensive working knowledge of, andDemonstrated skill in recognizing, abnormal cardiac rhythms. --Working knowledge of medical terminology,Anatomy, physiology, diagnostic tests/procedures, and medications. --Strong problem solving, organizational, andTime management skills. --Ability to work independently and respondAppropriately in stressful situations. --Excellent interpersonal, and verbal andWritten communication, skills. --Proficiency in using personal computer. --Ability to assertively advocate for patientSafety, by communicating the urgency of patient hemodynamic instability throughMonitoring of vital signs and rhythm changes from the monitor screens. --Must pass an EKG validation test when hiredAnd annually thereafter to ensure competency.Just as Virginia Mason is dedicated to improving theLives of our patients and our community, we are equally dedicated to yourProfessional and personal success.
