With offices in Boise, Seattle, and Los Angeles, we work as a single, collaborative studio focused on connecting people through beauty and innovation. We create projects which are visionary, contextually appropriate, and culturally resonant.-About the Role-The Senior Landscape Architect - Project Manager (PM) is a central player in the success of individual landscape projects, contributing to the wellbeing and growth of GGLO. This position leads by example, working closely with Principals, designers, and staff to orchestrate the work and delivery of projects; and is highly interactive with the client. This person collaborates with architects, urban designers, and interior designer at GGLO; and with other professional consultant team members to plan, manage, coordinate and present ideas. While this position manages and directs other staff, this is a hands-on role that involves research, analysis, and significant amounts of knowledge. The PM will manage the details of specific tasks, schedules, budgets, and staff as well as facilitation, public presentation, and community engagement.-Essential Duties and Responsibilities -Project

  • Coordinate with the larger project team including interface with owner, contractor, consultants, and lead team members
  • Develop, manage, and grow client relationships, and lead the proposal process for new projects
  • Assist in preparation of proposals; participate in interviews and public presentations
  • Develop and execute contracts with outside consultants and clients for services
  • Define, monitor, and maintain control of the scope of work and services for the project including project schedule and work plan
  • Promote decisiveness and standards of excellence resulting in higher productivity, accountability, and quality of GGLO's performance
  • Communicate complex and controversial issues effectively, both orally and in writing with the public, boards and City Council, City personnel, other agencies or community groups -Team
    • Present ideas and designs clearly and professionally in line with the overall project goals and vision internally to GGLO Membership, prior to- and in preparation for project and community stakeholders
    • Actively promote a collaborative and innovative culture, engage staff, and provide opportunities for development
    • Assist with the organization of team members, tasks, and meetings -Individual
      • Develop successful work plans, fee proposals, project schedules and budget management
      • Employ creative thinking abilities and contribute to firm-wide design excellence and problem solving, including active participation in firm design dialogue
      • Demonstrate ability to define, monitor, and maintain control of the scope of work and services for the project including project schedule and work plan
      • Incorporate Integrated Sustainable Design strategies and solutions into projects, with an eye toward those that are Climate Positive.
      • Work at a variety of scales from streetscape and public space design to district/campus level planning. -About You -
        • Ability to manage landscape architecture projects, providing strong direction for complex, large-scale projects within an urban context
        • Reliably understand the relationship between design and constructability
        • Understanding of all aspects and phases of the landscape architectural design and delivery process
        • Knowledge of the phases of the design process and construction
        • Understand materials detailing code and regulations governing the industry, documentation, specifications, and Finish Document Sets
        • Demonstrated interpersonal, team leadership and organizational skills, including significant experience designing and leading public processes and demonstrated negotiation and consensus building skills
        • Ability to analyze and synthesize large amounts of complex information
        • Ability to handle projects which involve politically sensitive or controversial issues with high levels of strategic thinking
        • Ability to work independently, and in a highly collaborative team environment
        • Excellent hand-drawing skills
        • Landscape Architect license with LEED ND, ILFI, or similar accreditation preferred -Requirements-
          • 15 or more years cumulative experience in a professional design or Landscape Architecture office setting including 5+ years of direct project management
          • Landscape Architect license
          • 5+ years documentation experience
          • Significant experience in mixed-use development, public space, streetscapes (including the design parameters of those project types)
          • Competency in Revit, Rhino, SetchUp, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Cloud; and proficiency in NewForma, Deltek Vision/VantagePoint
          • Critical thinking and strong communication skills (graphic, written, and interpersonal)
