Find your future with us.The Boeing Company is looking for an Associate Test & Evaluation Lab Technician to join our team in Renton, WA working on first shift. As a lab technician, you will have an important and exciting role in the company that includes calibration, designing and building test fixtures and developing procedures to test new equipment. You will tackle new and challenging problems every day. You will be supporting military and commercial programs such as 777X, 737MAX, 787, P-8, Tanker, and others.This technician will plan, check, set up, and operate Measurement and Test Equipment (M&TE) and/or process equipment. They will use calibration standards to calibrate, adjust, certify, maintain, and repair M&TE/process equipment using approved calibration procedures, process specifications, equipment drawings, and M&TE /process equipment manufacturer's performance specifications. They will also conduct routine tests, analyze data and document results.This position may require some travel between our Renton and Seattle locations.Position Responsibilities:

  • Support activities to plan, conduct and document tests on products, systems, components, materials, and manufacturing processes and technologies
  • Support the coordination of test requirements and assist in reviewing test methods and capabilities
  • Troubleshoot and recommend resolution of basic laboratory and test-related problems
  • Update equipment status using established systems and complete associated paperwork
  • Ensure equipment is ready for calibration per metrology processes
  • Prioritize and perform work according to automated daily report list, hot list, or as assigned by lead technician
  • Perform visual check of M&TE/process equipment for discrepancies and wear. Identify, document, and route non-conforming items in accordance with metrology lab processes
  • Provide information and clarification to customers on metrology processes
  • Work with other employees engaged in the calibration and certification of M&TE, and assist in the development of new calibration processes and procedures
  • Perform computations necessary to analyze measurement test results
  • Work under general supervisionThis position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a US Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. US Person includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
    • Metrology experience in electrical, physical or mechanical parametersPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
      • Experience in metrology and/or calibration/certification
      • 1+ years of experience with Flow, Force, Mass, Acceleration, Pressure, Linear Measurements, Temperature, Vacuum, and/or other Physical Metrology processes
      • 1+ years of experience in the aerospace industry
      • 1+ years of experience in a PMEL (Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory) back shop for the military
      • Experience in a calibration and/or testing laboratory
      • Experience using and configuring data acquisition units
      • Experience running and configuring automated hardware testsTypical Education/Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor, 3 years' related work experience, etc.).Relocation: Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.
