The role will be responsible for assisting in projects designed to benefit operations to create more efficient, intuitive and controlled processes in a risk-controlled manner. A solid understanding of technology and process engineering as well as the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously is critical for success. The role will work closely with individuals across the SMA Investment Operations department as well as with other departments both internal and external to the firm. Successful candidates are self-driven, good at building relationships and believe things can always be better. They also possess an insatiable curiosity for how things work with a desire to improve outcomes. - The Continuous Improvement Analyst is an integral part of the broader Investment Operations department.

Primary Responsibilities:

Act as a change agent, identifying and challenging existing processes that exhibit inefficiencies, lack adequate controls or may be modified to result in improved outcomes.Collaborate with all departments and individuals affected by Continuous Improvement projects.Act as a liaison for the department in various larger, firm-wide initiatives.Monitor and report project progress to ensure timely completion and high-quality results; provide appropriate documentation and project updates to leadership.Support the department with testing, training, best practices, documentation, procedures and follow up issues.Work with process owners, other functional departments, external resources and vendors to accomplish project goals.Work with respective teams to support additional business projects/initiatives.Create, define, document, and update project resource requirements as needed.Produce technical requirements, diagrams, wire-frames or functional prototypes when necessary for project success.Escalate issues that impact project expectations.Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Finance or Economics or equivalent work experience.3+ years professional experience in investment management (preferably operations-related) or a process design/improvement role in a related industry.Competent in Microsoft Office with strong skills in Excel, VBA/Macros, Access a plus.Strong desire to build skillset in areas of technology, project management or business analysis.Proven ability to work independently and collaborate with individuals across the organization.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently under tight deadlines.Demonstrated strong decision making and critical thinking skills.Ability to embrace technology solutions to enhance and control processes.Continuous improvement mindset with a solutions-driven approach.Some business analysis experience preferred.
