Security (BDS) organization is seeking an Experienced
Astrodynamacist for orbital analysis and operations to be a part of
our talented and highly-motivated team. We are excited to be on the
forefront of modern spaceflight with this position located in
Tukwila, WA.Position Responsibilities:
- Understands, determines, and develops requirements for the
orbit(s) for given missions. Trades competing and contributing
factors such as inclination, altitude, vehicle configuration, and
maneuvers throughout the life-cycle of the vehicle to ensure
vehicle meets mission requirements and objectives.
- Candidate will evaluate orbit types, determine orbit related
mission requirements, assess applicability of specialized orbits,
and evaluate where a single or constellation of satellites is
needed. Candidate will also assess launch, retrieval, and disposal
scenarios.
- Skills should include familiarity with high-fidelity orbit
propagation to include multi-body gravitational effects, drag and
solar radiation pressure; trajectory optimization.
- Candidate must communicate well in a team setting and be able
to document findings, assumptions, and analysis.
- Collaboration with Systems Engineering (focusing on operational
concepts and use cases), as well as Design Teams (propulsion,
payload, and vehicle design teams).
- This position routinely works with customers, suppliers, and
geographically diverse Program teams.This position is expected to
be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work
onsite at the listed location. Work Authorization: This position
requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which
the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or
final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required. Basic
Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an
accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science,
mathematics, physics or chemistry
- 3+ years of experience working in aerospace, defense, or
similar high-tech industry Preferred Qualifications (Desired
Skills/Experience):
- Top Secret Security Clearance. SCI highly desired.
- Knowledge of orbit determination techniques
- Toolset experience, including Satellite Tool Kit (STK), Matlab,
and CAMEO.
- Experience working on highly complex engineered systems.
- Experience developing, maintaining, and executing program
documentation. Typical Education & Experience: Education/experience
typically acquired through advanced technical education from an
accredited course of study in engineering, computer science,
mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5
or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination
of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years'
related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the
preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
