Each year over 2,100 babies are born in our Family Birth Center. Our birthing suites are designed for all stages of birth - labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum care with quick access to operation rooms for C-sections if needed. - -The Surgical Tech position with our Family Birth Center provides, as an integral part of the medical practitioner team, surgical care to patients to facilitate safe and effective completion of invasive therapeutic procedures. Incumbents are also accountable for utilizing and keeping current on the application of sterile and aseptic technique, surgical procedures, implementation tools and technologies, human anatomy as well as collaborating and communicating effectively with the inter-disciplinary team to facilitate a physician's performance of invasive and therapeutic procedures. -

Graduation from surgical technology program accredited through Accreditation Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology ARC-ST. -A minimum of six months operating room work experience that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities is preferred, note required. - -Graduation from an accredited school of nursing may be substituted for graduation from an accredited surgical technician program. -If classified as Surgical Technician: - Maintain Registration with the State of Washington. - Registered nurses and/or practical nurses acting within the scope of their licensure do not need to maintain surgical technologist registration. - - -If classified as Surgical Technician, Certified: Current certification through the Association of Surgical Technologists is required.Current healthcare provider BLS Certification.
