Job Summary: The Production Test Engineering (PTE) Section Lead within Operations is responsible for leading a support team consisting of PTEs, who are technically trained individuals with diverse backgrounds and varying levels of experience. The successful candidate will report to the Operations Engineering PTE Section Manager and be accountable for the daily management and direction of approximately 10 Production Test Engineers. The team's charter is to drive product test integrity by engaging throughout the production lifecycle to maintain and control test systems, improve test processes and influence testability in the product design. Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Prioritize tasks to meet the customer's needs
  • Coordinate resources
  • Manage team staffing levels and interfacing with strategic make center personnel and leaders
  • Provide training, coaching, mentoring, employee performance development and ensuring each engineer is performing to the standards set by the Operations Engineering West Execution Center.
  • Manage technical quality of engineering tasks, product compliance and providing critical oversight to his/her team of engineers
  • Possess skills necessary to develop sustaining solutions to routine technical problems, troubleshoot test systems and lead root cause and corrective action
  • Chairing the process control board, approving timecards and supporting hiring events
  • Participate or lead functional or factory improvement projects
  • Develop influential relationships with internal customers
  • Working lead with additional assignments in support of the make center Qualifications You Must Have:
    • Bachelor of Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and five (5) years of relevant technical/engineering experience with emphasis in test engineering OR An advanced Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and three (3) years of relevant technical/engineering experience with emphasis in testing or manufacturing engineering experience. - Preferred majors: Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering Technology
    • Experience in a manufacturing and test environment
    • Experience in leading teams or projects
    • Experience with MRP systems (ex. SAP)
    • Experience with Lean Manufacturing
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Clearance
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance Qualifications We Value:
