Job Description:

The Director of Operations North America is responsible for the overall operation, coordination and productivity of all operations functions, including the warehouse, custom & transportation. The value from Director of Operations North America position comes from the overall management of the operations processes and accurate reporting of the performance as it relates to supply chain and customer fulfilment KPIs and metrics. The Director of Operations North America is responsible for organizing an effective and efficient flow of goods with high end consumer and customer delivery performance as the key driver. -This role supports new operational initiatives, strategic planning and align resources to fulfil future business models and structure. -
Key attributes of the role are the overall management of people and processes. The Operations Director will lead and motivate the teams in order to reach the agreed targets and to realize improvements. Efficient and effective communication is imperative for this role, as well as ensuring that processes are organized in line with agreed quality norms and standards. -
Key Responsibilities:

  • -Ensure all operations are carried out in an appropriate, cost-effective way
  • Improve operational management systems, processes and best practices in line with business strategy
  • Drive delivery performance and service towards customers -
  • Oversee warehouse efficiency and drive continuous improvement mindset/culture
  • Drive efficient systems utilization in addition to relationship towards vendors - -Point of contact for vendors locally. - -Communicate issues, presenting enhancements & invoice approval -IT - keeping focus on 'up time and' communicating issues when they arise
    • Manage Quality Control issues and communicate to address local/global issues
    • Manage resource responsible for Environmental, Health and Safety Requirements for the region and ensure alignment with global direction and priorities
    • Manage return process and evolution to in house embellishment
    • Develop and manage outbound freight and supporting service contracts - -Managing contracts for all carriers covering the countries and partners served by the North America organization including direct deliveries (UPS, USPS, FedEx, Purolator, Canada Post, USPS & all LTL carriers). - -Quarterly meetings to review partners are meeting deliverables.
      • Develop and manage inbound freight, duty compliance and supporting contracts and processes -Managing resources responsible for North American inbound flow including relationship and coordination with Supply Planning.
        • Ensure the organization's processes remain legally compliant and in line with internal guidelines and standards -
        • Responsibility for the maintenance and security of the facility as well as the security of the stock - -Align with CTC and leverage new hosted security model. Requires management and communication with onsite security.
          • Maintain relationship with landlord, vendors and key business partners in relation to distribution center and facility - -Relationship & lease ownership with landlord -Facility Maintenance and service contracts
            • Manage budgets, forecasts and key performance drivers - -Monitor KPIs and use them to improve performance and profitability
              • Formulate strategic and operational objectives based on corporate objectives.
              • Office management - addressing issues and needs of employees in facility and remote. This requires communication of office protocols and any onsite updates.
              • Communication with HH European Distribution Center - establish line of communication that fosters a good relationship and collaboration for success.
              • Recruit, train, develop and supervise staff -Establish work from home policy compliant with local authorities and consistent with global HH priorities -Meet with HR on a regular basis to ensure alignment with onsite needs and address any issues raised -Manage relationship with Temporary Agencies to ensure stable and trained workforce. - -Planning and organizing company events for US employees.

                  • Signing authority in line with HHPPS.
                  • Drive efficient operations and improvements
                  • Authorized to negotiate with employment agencies and fine tune the staffing needs -
                  • Authority to give orders for maintenance and replacement of means of production -Competencies & personal attributes:
                    • Demonstrable ability to lead and manage staff
                    • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects
                    • Record of successful distribution and logistics management experience, 15+ years
                    • Experience in Supply Chain processes, warehouse management systems and procedures -
                    • Experience with transport- and distribution activities -
                    • Completed Bachelor's program: Logistics/ Supply Chain Management direction or at similar level through experience and expertise. -
                    • Solid understanding of logistics, supply chain and supporting software
                    • Outstanding analytical, problem solving and organizational abilities
                    • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
                    • Possessing a Lean / Six sigma certification (Green Belt /Black Belt) is an advantage -Success metrics:
                      • On time delivery performance - Lead time
                      • Warehouse CPUs, inbound, warehouse, outbound
                      • Customer satisfaction score
                        Location: Sumner, WA ( est. 30 minutes from Seattle)
                        Travel time expected: 15%
