The primary purposes of the CHARGEMASTER ANALYST are to ensure a compliant and effective Charge Description Master (CDM) and corresponding charge capture tools for assigned clinical service areas. Key elements of compliance and charge data integrity are to ensure knowledge and application of applicable laws and regulations, as well as working with the Revenue Integrity team to ensure process standardization and quality controls, proactive and routine reviews and a team approach to decision making. Ensures that annual and quarterly updates to CPT/HCPCS are completed timely and efficiently. The CHARGEMASTER ANALYST must have skills and knowledge that span the complexity of UW Medicine Chargemaster Operations, including expertise in Epic HB master file set up to enable a compliant chargemaster and appropriate charge capture, ability to understand a wide variety of charging processes, understanding of payer charge code compliance and regulations and technical skills required to design and manage regulatory changes, providing education, performing audits and maximizing the capabilities of the CDM system. This role is responsible for collaborating with a group of key stakeholders from departments across UW Medicine to develop appropriate and complaint charging (ITS, Finance, Clinics and Enterprise Revenue Cycle). The CHARGEMASTER ANALYST position is a key role for charge master operations. Requiring more experience with EPIC system build knowledge while maintaining a solid knowledge base of chargemaster specific coding, reimbursement, and pricing methodologies. In addition, the responsibilities of the Program Operations Analyst is to, in cooperation with Chargemaster Operations and Epic Core Systems, maintain the integrity and billing compliance of the data contained in the following master files in support of Epic Hospital Billing: EAP; Fee schedules Groups, cost centers, cost center assignment, Bed charge billing Tables, revenue codes and Modifiers. ' DUTIES include, but are not limited to: Compliant chargemaster operations/charge related master file maintenance Integrated testing Quarterly/annual CDM audits and coding updates/annual pricing updates Regulatory & payer knowledge Maintains an understanding of current Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer billing regulations Serve as key contributor and subject matter expert (SME) REQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Informatics, or related healthcare field 6 Years experience: Revenue Cycle Management, Revenue Integrity or chargemaster operations. Clinical operations and clinical department systems. Government payor regulations and requirements for hospital and professional claims submission Charging/Charge Capture workflows Payor Contract and reimbursement language Equivalent experience may substitute for requirements DESIRED: HFMA(CRCR), NAHRI(CHRI), AAPC (COC-CPC), or AHIMA (RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CCA) certification : Hybrid, Office setting, indoors, multiple sites REQUIREMENTS:
