The Hilton Seattle is searching for an Assistant Chief Engineer.
This is a full-time manager position that will be responsible for
the direct maintenance of the building, equipment and grounds while
achieving superior guest service goals. The Maintenance Engineer
must display strong leadership and organizational skills to assure
that the facility is effectively maintained. Strong attention to
detail, schedule flexibility and a minimum of two years' experience
in engineering/maintenance is a must.
This is a full-time position, and we are ready to hire now - pay is

Summary:
The Assistant Chief Engineer provides support to the Chief Engineer
and Engineering Department at Hilton Seattle by performing the
duties below.This position reports to the Chief Engineer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
-Assists in the daily operation, maintenance, preventative and
repairs of the building plumbing, electrical, HVAC and all other
building system.
-Inspect buildings, grounds and equipment for unsafe or
malfunctioning conditions.
-Conduct periodic general preventative maintenance on the
mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems in the
building.
-Responsible for the normal lubrication, adjustment, cleaning,
replacement of consumable parts (such as filters, indicator lights,
etc.), and periodic testing of the equipment.
-Responsible for the performance and maintenance of the building's
system which includes, but is not limited to; air handling units,
re-circulating air systems, water pumping systems, cooling plant
and all plumbing system components.
-Assist with installation and modifications of the building
equipment systems.
-Respond quickly to emergency situations.
-Perform all assigned work to ensure the safety of the building and
its tenants as well as guests of the Hilton Seattle Downtown, and
the continuous operation of the site.
-Prioritize service calls and follow-up completion.
-Coordinate maintenance efforts with outside contractors and
technicians when work cannot be performed in-house.
-Coordinate contractor and management approvals for work orders
that require the use of an outside contractor.
-Maintain detailed log of work orders.
-Order parts and supplies as required, as well as maintain stock
and inventory control.
-Be responsive to building staff, tenants and guests' complaints in
the areas of safety, plumbing, mechanical, electrical and
environmental needs.
-Prepare and maintain maintenance logs and records.
-Be familiar with and conform to all written operating procedures
associated with site.
-Oversee maintenance/engineering staff, including plumber, painter,
electrician, mechanic and general maintenance.
-Ensure projects are well defined and understood, develop effective
project plan which results in project results that meet cost,
schedule, quality, functionality objectives (short and long term)
and compliance with business controls.
-Develop product specifications and suppliers sources for materials
required to perform job. Material/equipment selections should be
based on the lowest life cycle cost and in accordance with existing
building grade.
-Oversee the quality and completion of all maintenance items
performed during the day by maintenance personnel.
-Other related duties to be assigned.
Education & Experience Requirements:
-Minimum 5 years maintenance experience and 3 years of engineering
experience in a supervisory/management position of hotel
-College degree or Technical school graduate in related field
preferred.
-Maintenance operation experience required.
-Thorough knowledge of skilled trades such as HVAC, plumbing,
electrical, and carpentry. Advanced knowledge or certification in
one of these areas is required.
-Proven ability to oversee, manage, train, coach, direct and guide
a diverse team of engineers (maintenance personnel).
-Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules,
operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals.
-Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
-Ability to communicate effectively before groups of customers or
employees (at all levels of the organization).
-Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios,
proportions to practical situations to enable job performance on
daily tasks.
-Bilingual (English/Spanish)- preferred
-Computer knowledgeable required.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the Assistant Chief
Engineer is frequently required to stand; walk; use of hands and
fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with
hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or
crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and talk or
hear and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift, push,
pull and/or move up to 150 pounds.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently
works in outside weather conditions. The employee occasionally
works near moving mechanical parts; in high, precarious places; is
occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or
airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme heat, risk
of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work
environment is usually moderate.
