Senior Computing Architect

Boeing Information Technology and Data Analytics is seeking a Software Architect to join their team in Seattle, WA, USA or St. Louis City, MO, USA supporting the Boeing Global Services (BGS) Commercial Mods, Freighters, & Aircraft On Ground (AOG).

This position will focus on the support of large portfolio of legacy and current applications in the BGS Commercial Mods, Freighters, & ACG businesses.

In this role, the Senior Software Architect will partner will various application teams and business stakeholders. You will drive technical strategies and roadmaps to enable successful product outcomes, and increased stability for legacy applications.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Defines and communicates the shared technical and architectural vision for a portfolio of digital products
  • Creates technology roadmaps for the portfolio in collaboration with business stakeholders
  • Oversees software delivery process to ensure software architecture conforms to business, security, policy, extensibility and technical requirements
  • Assesses of feasibility of architecture solutions and alternatives
  • Assesses impact of architectural decisions to product lifecycle
  • Prepares architecture documents such as conceptual, logical and physical data models for data pipelines and systems
  • Actively engages with Boeing and sourcing providers working in an agile environment
  • Provide technical guidance and coaching to developers
  • Create a well-informed cloud strategy and manage the adaption process This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team's discretion and could potentially change in the future.

    Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
    • 5+ years of progressive experience in software development and delivery
    • 5+ years of experience with DevOps practices such as Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, cloud operations and automated deployments
    • 2+ year of experience with Cloud hosted platform such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
    • 5+ years of experience do you have in full stack development
    • 1+ working years of experience in Microservices architecture with real time large scale system integrations Preferred Qualifications/Desired Skills (Desired Skills/Experience):
      • Clear and confident communicator to technical and non-technical audiences at all levels of the organization
      • Knowledge of the programming language like .NET or Java, experience with Web Services / APIs, HTML, and JavaScript, experience with enterprise software implementation projects
      • Experience with Agile project management and tools
      • 5+ years of successful coaching and mentoring colleagues to drive high performance and positive team dynamics
      • Bachelor's degree or higher in the field of Computer Science or Engineering
      • Experience working with outsourcing partners
      • Experience with Microsoft Azure
      • Aviation and Aerospace industry experience specifically in the aftermarket area

        Typical Education/Experience:

        Experienced (Level 4)

        Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience, 13 years' related work experience, etc.)

        Senior (Level 5)

        Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g.Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience, 18 years' related work experience, etc.)

        Relocation:

        Salary Range:

        Summary pay range for experienced-level: $122,400-$177,100

        Summary pay range for senior level: $142,800- $207,000
