COURSEThe Divisional Merchandise Manager oversees the product
selection, assorting, budgeting, planning, sales, profitability,
and presentation of Tommy Bahama men's sportswear and swim.This
position is responsible for building an assortment that is a
natural extension of the Tommy Bahama brand. Additionally, this
position is responsible for the achievement of the financial goals
and distribution of product information thus ensuring all
merchandising team efforts support the Tommy Bahama lifestyle and
brand.Further, this position continues to enhance the brand
integrity and image in all existing locations and new locations by
providing the best possible product and service that satisfies the
guest's needs.BE THE ISLAND GUIDECreates long-term and short-term
merchandising strategy to achieve sales targets, profit margin,
turnover, and reduced returns.Oversees relationship between the
merchandisers, allocators, planners and distributor to manage OTB
sales forecasts on a monthly and yearly basis, weekly on key
classifications and styles.Manages the selection of merchandise,
delivering a strong brand point of view in our stores and achieving
the appropriate balance within each product mix.Research trends and
"Best Practices" of the competition in order to target product and
classification business opportunities.Partner with design to create
a line with keeping within strategic objectives.Partner with design
on line plan creation.Develop relationships with regional managers
to ensure product needs are being fulfilled by demographic
area.Initiate a testing system that allows for the introduction of
new product and expanding classifications.Creates efficient and
best merchandising process to achieve or surpass profit, sales and
inventory goals.Develop and merchandise product mix to meet and
exceed corporate profit goals.Responsible for inventory level
management by store; inventory flow and stock turn; inventory
levels & transfers through Outlet Stores.Responsible for accurate
forecasting and appropriate adjustments to trend.Coordinates
regional and visual proper space allocation based on sales
trends.Convey to all cross-functional partners, items that are
becoming a major trend & maximize presentation and volume
potential.Work closely with the planning team to develop sales,
turnover, and profit goals.Work closely with merchants to hit unit
and dollar sales, inventory, receipt, margin and turn plans by
month, season and year for each buy team.Analyze performance for
inventory and profit goals, and implement plans to improve
results.Manage timing/flow of product based on seasonal plans and
entrance/exit strategies.Manage allocation strategies to insure
allocators maintain proper replenishment strategies of stock goals
and flow plans, including stock balancing and timely
transfers.Meets operating budget and reports expenses in a timely
manner.Sales, profitability, inventory, and on order reviewed
weekly.Focuses team on short-term and relating long-term
objectives.Maintain focus on defining expectations and providing
tools for the teams success.Insures all deadlines are met.Initiates
product knowledge meetings with reports & all retail sales staff.
Performs all HR functions including hiring, performance evaluations
and counseling for team.Ensures all sales trends are conveyed to
design, sales and merchandising.Listen to our guests, regional
managers and sales team.Facilitates product knowledge training for
the sales associates to help improve the guest customer service
experience.Participates in store visual presentation meetings.
Reviews with Visual Managers the concepts & direction of the
product in its development stage each season in order to
communicate to Regional Managers and develop visual presentation
execution strategy.Initiates a new and fresh product mix each
season.ESSENTIALS FOR LIFE IN PARADISEBachelor's Degree in Fashion
Merchandising, Business or equivalent experience.Requires 10+
years' retail merchandising experience in a fast growth company
with a geographically diverse multi-location company.Requires 5-7
year's of management and merchandising experience.Strong
negotiation skills.Excellent written and verbal communication
skills.Requires direct management experience and leadership skills
with an understanding of the importance of team
building/development.Proven organizational skills, detail oriented
and ability to multi-task.Exceptional problem solving/ decision
making skills.A keen eye for fashion/trend analysis.Requires
budgeting, inventory turn, and gross margin experience.Experience
developing systems/processes that will help TB Retail reduce cost
and maximize return on investment.Experience in domestic and
international buying/sourcing is required.Strong computer skills
(Word, Outlook), and super user of Excel.Proficiency in merchandise
replenishment software/systems; STS experience preferred.Mahalo
