Job Summary:

The Research Associate III is a hands-on, experimental science position with a focus on basic research in technologies combined with supporting current product development efforts. This role plays a critical function in new technology development through product launch and offers the chance to learn cutting edge technology within a multidisciplinary setting. The Research Associate III will report to the Senior Scientist of a key group within R&D.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Design, carry out and interpret experiments with limited supervision
  • Organize and communicate results to supervisor and senior management verbally and/or in writing
  • Perform 80-90% bench work on specified projects, including: Operate histopathology equipment and follow chemistry protocol to help tissue preparation for the project; Operate fluidic microscope equipment to help biology data collection; Chemistry reagent preparation for tissue prep and data collection
  • Work cooperatively in a product-oriented team environment
  • Deliver results under tight timelines
  • Present data to product development teams and management representatives
  • Write protocols, experimental summary reports, quality documents and other scientific literature associated with projects
  • Analyze large, complex data sets using spreadsheets and/or other data analysis packages
  • Maintain and manipulate cell lines associated with your research

    • B.S. in biochemistry, molecular or cellular biology or a related discipline
    • At least 4 years of hands-on relevant experience
    • Expert on tissue histology, pathology required
    • Experience with tissue sectioning with microtome or cryostat and preparation of FFPE tissue, Fresh frozen/fixed tissue
    • Expert on tissue histology, pathology and morphology
    • Experience with in-situ molecule detection
    • Experience and/or knowledge with fluidic and/or fluorescence microscope.
    • Strong analytical skills. Experience with data analysis with Excel required
    • Organized and detailed-oriented with ability to communicate results effectively
    • Must work cooperatively in a product-oriented team environment

      Preferred Qualifications:
      • Advanced degree (Master's) preferred.
      • Experience with RNA and/or protein detection methodologies, multiplexed RNA/protein assays and handling antibodies/RNA sample preparation
      • Experience with cell culture, manipulating cells and/or modulating expression of RNA in cell lines
      • Experience with data analysis using Python and/or R preferred
      • Experience with lab consumables management
