Job Description The Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) team
is a new function within Customer Engagement Technology. We are
responsible for the end-to-end process of defining, building,
implementing, and monitoring a comprehensive data strategy. Our
team also develops and applies Generative Artificial Intelligence
(GenAI), Agentic AI, Ontology, Knowledge Graph, and Natural
Language Processing (NLP) to strengthen our foundational technology
and improve customer and associate experiences. As a Senior
Economist, your expertise will be key in shaping data-driven
strategies and addressing complex data challenges. You will analyze
our extensive customer service interaction dataset using advanced
econometric methods to develop causal models for proactive
solutions that improve customer experiences. Your expertise in
causal analysis will be crucial in understanding customer
interaction behaviors, analyzing data patterns, and assessing their
impacts. A key focus of this role will be on causal econometrics,
analyzing complex signals from customer interactions, purchasing
patterns, and operational processes. These signals present
challenges due to their complexity, requiring sophisticated feature
engineering to address evolving trends. Your economic reasoning
will drive decision-making as you lead cross-functional projects
and identify innovative opportunities. You'll design and implement
econometric models, making sound methodological choices and
developing validated solutions. This role combines practical
execution with strategic direction, from data exploration to
deployment. Your impact will extend beyond technical work, as you
present strategic narratives to leadership, influence across
functions, build consensus, and articulate the measurable impact of
solutions. Key job responsibilities - Lead building and
implementing causal inference methodologies on large-scale data to
create business and customer impact - Design simple, scalable
solutions for complex business problems with measurable results -
Partner with senior leaders to translate economic and data science
insights into actions - Build consensus across teams and
effectively manage diverse stakeholder perspectives - Mentor
scientists and serve as technical resource for economic
methodologies and data science. A day in the life As an Economist
in the Data and AI team, you will combine deep business
understanding with hands-on problem-solving in econometric analysis
and causal inference. Your expertise will be vital in tackling
complex economic initiatives, ensuring they align with customer
needs and business objectives while translating requirements into
practical data-driven solutions. You will design and enhance
econometric models working collaboratively across functions. Your
role involves providing analytical leadership and mentorship to
team members, fostering economic reasoning and promoting rigorous
analytical solutions. You will ensure data quality standards,
optimize model performance, and generate actionable insights from
vast amounts of information. Through your contributions, you will
resolve complex methodological challenges, advance critical
economic analyses, and conceive new approaches to improve how we
utilize data to transform customer and associate experiences.

QUALIFICATIONS- PhD in economics or equivalent - 5 years of
relevant scientific experience, with expertise in economic theory,
quantitative methods, and/or advanced analytical techniques
(including econometrics, program evaluation, data science,
forecasting, time series analysis, panel data modeling, and
high-dimensional problem-solving) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS-
Experience in analytics and applied economics - Experience in
building statistical models using R, Python, STATA, or a related
software - 5 yrs. of relevant, broad research science experience

the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base
pay for this position ranges from $143,300/year in our lowest
geographic market up to $247,600/year in our highest geographic
market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market
location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills,
