Job Description:
Project Kuiper is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband
network. Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to

operating in locations without reliable connectivity. Export
Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and
regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S.
permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully
admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Project
Kuiper is looking for a Global Export Control Manager to define
program and product requirements to build, maintain and operate the
technology, processes and controls which ensure Project Kuiper’s
compliance with export control regulations globally. This role will
encompass a broad range of regulatory compliance subjects,
including: export compliance processes, software and technology
exports, deemed exports, export licensing, export classification
and all related export compliance governance requirements related
to the business objectives of Project Kuiper. Key job
responsibilities - Work with Legal and Global Trade & Compliance
teams to drive strategy, drive and enforce global export control
processes - Drive transactional compliance with export regulations
globally, including obtaining and monitoring the use of export
authorizations - Provide export classification subject matter
expertise, maintain jurisdiction and classification determinations,
and develop strategic export classification processes - Seek
automation opportunities and leverage technologies to proactively
detect and mitigate export compliance issues - Drive scalable
business solutions with Kuiper stakeholders, including Engineering,
Manufacturing, Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, Tax and other
business teams to ensure compliance with export regulations
globally - Maintain deemed export processes and procedures for
Project Kuiper customers, vendors, employees, and visitors -
Develop and conduct new hire and ongoing export compliance training
at all levels throughout the business - Monitor regulatory changes
related to export controls - Develop and conduct audits to verify
compliance and the effectiveness of systems and processes - Manage
export control team A day in the life You will interact with Legal,
Global Trade Services, HR, Tax, Engineering, Operations,
Procurement, Supply Chain, and other internal businesses and
external stakeholders to drive global export compliance. This
position requires significant experience in export controls and
demonstrated use of mechanisms to deliver training, and to enable
and monitor compliance of business, engineering and operations
stakeholders. The candidate should be an innovative compliance
professional experienced in building export programs. In this role,
the candidate will drive and scale the Project Kuiper export
compliance program through development of effective and efficient
processes that support the pace of innovation and business that

QUALIFICATIONS - 5 years of experience developing global export
compliance and trade control programs - 5 years experience in the
ITAR and EAR - 5 years experience delivering business critical
projects that are global in nature, and using influence to drive
adoption and compliance across engineering and business teams - 5
strategic leadership and management experience leading teams
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Experience with export controls
applicable to sensitive and high-technology products and
industries, such as aerospace, microelectronic circuits,
telecommunications and encryption - Trade compliance experience in
both R&D and production environments - Ability to demonstrate
sound judgment even in ambiguous situations - Ability to turn
complex compliance requirements into scalable processes - People

the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base
pay for this position ranges from $118,100/year in our lowest
geographic market up to $252,700/year in our highest geographic
market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market
location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills,
